As MPT began the process of upgrading its network and expanding its coverage to accommodate additional customers, scalability, cost and quality were paramount criteria in the company’s assessment and selection of core transit switching technology. MPT selected infrastructure solutions from Dialogic, which teamed up with local partner Khine Thit Sar Co Ltd. (KTSCL) to successfully win the project. With the ControlSwitch System’s distributed call control architecture and operationally efficient management, the Southeast Asian carrier can easily and quickly configure, provision and manage its infrastructure. MPT intends to deploy a distributed ControlSwitch System and I-Gate 4000 MGWs in multiple locations across Myanmar to reliably connect its local PSTN switches and provide connectivity to other operators, as well as BorderNet SBCs for voice over IP (VoIP) peering and subscriber access. The company is also partnering with Japan’s KDDI to help with its aggressive plans to increase its subscriber base.
